# What are DIDs?

A DID (Direct Inward Dialing) number or a Virtual Number (you can also see a 'DDI' term) is a local phone number in a country. And that's what we can help you with as well!

There are two options:

1. Renting a number for receiving phone calls only;
2. Renting a number for voice calls and SMS.

Open the 'Virtual numbers' section in your dCalls account or [follow that link](https://app.dcalls.org/did). There you can see several tabs:

1. Description, well, describes what DIDs are :)
2. 'My numbers' section gives you the list of phone numbers you own;
3. Use the 'Add a number' section to pick and purchase a number;
4. The 'SMS Logs' and the 'Call Logs' saves the history of received messages and phone calls.
